Investment Opportunity in the Iraqi Dinar?

Investment Opportunity in the Iraqi Dinar?

Online speculation regarding the ‘investment opportunity’ the new Iraqi Dinar represents is becoming a virtual cottage industry …

However,I’m already on record as believing it’s a great way to acquire wallpaper one note at a time.

With that in mind, I’ve noticed that a recent statement from the USA government has announced that they’ve ‘hit the wall’ budgetarily in Iraq; they’ve given enough financial aid to rebuild Iraq. Apparently, they’ve concluded that almost billion in handouts is quite sufficient, especially when half of it was engulfed by fighting the continued insurgency there and thus had no lasting effect as a basis for reconstruction. Instead, the Americans believe it’s time for other governments to belly up to the bar and make their own contributions to the cause.

That’s about as realistic as thinking that the new Iraqi Dinar will amount to anything of value in the near future.

Given that, should the USA ever leave Iraq, the country is as liable to devolve into a prolonged civil war as the former Yugoslavia was when an imposed authority — Tito’s Soviet-backed . . . → Read More: Investment Opportunity in the Iraqi Dinar?

What info can I get about a 1866 Confederate $20 bill?

Question by SeanK: What info can I get about a 1866 Confederate bill?
I have a $ 20 bill dated 1864 from The Confederate States of America. As best I can tell the bill really is from the 1860′s. The only thing that’s throwing me off is on either side of the central picture are shields that state “Two years after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States and United States of America.”

As far as I’ve been told there were no commemorative currency pieces issued that soon after the war. I would appreciate all the information I can get about this.

Thank you

This link is for pictures of a similar $ 20 bill: http://www.doughboymilitary.com/pictures.php?id=672
Based on the first answer I can offer the following: After posting the question I went digging again. ALL confederate bills I have found for sale have this same marking. No one mentions the markings or their meaning.

Possible that Jared Lee Loughner was into “Soveriegn citizens/freeman” stuff?

Question by Get Bent: Possible that Jared Lee Loughner was into “Soveriegn citizens/freeman” stuff?
The grammar/fiat currency stuff caught my attention but he’s simplistic in detail / reference.

The ”free mans on the land” is a fairly new movement thats more popular in Canada then here in the US but they refer to definitions / grammar / capital manipulation ”kinda” like whats in his vids.

They argue that U.C.C. is the true law of the land and that maritime law / Admiralty law or ”law of the sea” has merged with land making every facet of life a corporatist business transaction. That administrative case law and Admiralty laws are the same thing but most people don’t understand it except judges and lawyers. They are listed via Gov / ADL / Southern Poverty Law Center as ”paper terrorist” Look it up…ugh clogging up mostly district court processes everything from tax evasions / free medical / free schooling using public SS# / Stock market # to control funds and make self perpetuated documents blah blah blah…

Basically they argue that administrative law and most gov recognized . . . → Read More: Possible that Jared Lee Loughner was into “Soveriegn citizens/freeman” stuff?

c. Riots broke ut when people thought greedy merchants were withholding needed supplies.

Best answer:

Answer by No religion in this pubNo their would probably be a sound currency like gold and silver no, fiat currency. Kind of like what the constitution says.
Why do you think conservatives would listen to Rush? You must be listening to that media the government controls that discredits real conservatives by mixing them in with neo cons.

Fake currency from ebay?

Question by GradMU08: Fake currency from ebay?
I bought some confederate money off of e-bay and in the description it says “A actinic Feb 17, 1864 $ 10 confederacy bill” What does ” A Actinic” mean? In the picture it looked like real used confederate money and says circulated under the description. When I received it in the mail, it looks brand new like it was copied on fancy paper and has “facsimile” printed in small letters on the bill.

Does this mean it is fake? I wasn’t sure if I overlooked something in the description, but I don’t know what actinic currency means. I also know that the bill doesn’t say “facsimile” in the pictures. What do you think?

P.S. I tried to e-mail the seller on saturday and haven’t received a response yet. If it IS fake, how long should I wait to hear back from him/her until I file a complaint?
Since it says “actinic” but it says circulated and doesn’t look like the picture, do you think I can . . . → Read More: Fake currency from ebay?

USA Debt Reaches $646,688 per Household

USA Debt Reaches 6,688 per Household

Executive Summary – This data comes from USA today, not out of thin air. In the last year the USA took on 6.8 trillion dollars in more debt. The total is now 63.8 trillion dollars. This figure is four times what the average household in the USA owes on all their debts including mortgages, credit cards, student loans, car loans, etc. The amount of debt owed per household if we add in estimated debts other than what is owed to the fed we get an estimate of 2,000. If we run the interest on this at say 5%, which is a low estimate for sure, we get ,000 a year and this is interest only with no repayment of principal.

If we ran the repayment of each household debt like a mortgage, say 30 years fully amortized at 5% we would get a monthly payment of 61.12 which is ,933.44 per year. After this the people need money for food, clothing, medical, transportation electric, heat, phones, education, etc. The point is there is no way that the . . . → Read More: USA Debt Reaches $646,688 per Household

Do you think it’s time to sell your gold? Take those rose-colored glasses off!

Do you think it’s time to sell your gold? Take those rose-colored glasses off!

Many new reports have publicized that the financial markets can go no lower.  Crude oil prices are at an all time low, the housing slump and economic slowdown are over, and the future looks so bright, or is it?  These reports recommend that now is the time to liquidate your gold bullion.  But don’t be fooled, take off those rose-colored glasses, because now is definitely not the time to sell!

Before you decide to trade your gold for depreciating dollars, look at these important facts why you should be doing more gold investing.  While retail sales have risen slightly, these sales include gasoline; which is selling well because the prices have dropped.  Jobless claims continue to rise and many companies continue to announce new layoffs.  Financial markets are still volatile.  Even after the government has bailed out some of the largest banks, these same banks continue to need more money to operate.

The housing market has not yet reached bottom and people defaulting on their mortgages continues to rise.  Inflation . . . → Read More: Do you think it’s time to sell your gold? Take those rose-colored glasses off!

Old Currency from different country worth?

Question by Lindsey A: Old Currency from different country worth?
I have a 50 dollar bill from the confederate times dated Richmond Sept. 2nd 1861 number 18445, 1 rupee from india with the number 615857 on bottom left side and i have an old 10 dollar military payment certificate series 461 and was wondering how much these are worth now.?

Best answer:

Answer by I. B. ZoxxThe $ 10 MPC is pretty good. There is only one on eBay right now, with a Buy it Now price of $ 45. For a VF grade note, that is not a bad price.
Here is a link to that auction:

The Confederate $ 50 is also pretty good, if it is real. Fakes abound. I will need to research that one some more, and I will add to this answer later. Make sure the serial number is hand written instead of printed on.
Here is a link to one presently for sale on eBay for $ 84.99.
