Question by NAZ: What is Turkey Specimen vs Turkey Currency in Paper Money?
Hello Collectors
I’ve been wanting to start a foreign currency collection, while browsing ebay, I noticed a huge difference in prices when the item is listed as just Turkey Lira for what ever value and when the listing carries the word SPECIMEN in it and that goes for other currencies as well… could someone please give me some hints and tips and explain why the price could be as low as a few dollars verses hundreds or sometime thousands when the listing has the word specimen in it.. and if you could direct me to what’s a good collection to have in coins or paper currency, you will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

If you have not had better get one and soon! In this article I am going to share my personal financial security plan.I am a naturally optimistic person. Nevertheless, I believe, with all my point is that the United States and other countries in the world is a big problem. That’s why I think so much.
With the U.S. national debt is $ 14400000000000 U.S. dollars (a 14,500,000,000,000!). This number is increasing from $ 500,000 during the 10 seconds the price! Debt for every citizen in the country is $ 46,210!
Irresponsible and out-of-control spending by the Federal Government and State Government is driving the country bankrupt! I’m not taking sides or a political party! Both parties are guilty!

What Changes How Much Money Is In The World?
Article by Wonga
“Money” is what we all use to buy goods and services. In itself, it is worthless unless backed by a guarantee by someone to make the paper notes and coins we use actually worth something.
To be useful, money has to have a number of attributes. It must:
- be universally accepted as a means of payment;- retain its value over time;- have a common unit of account or worth accepted by everyone;- be divisible;- be portable;- be durable; and, crucially,- be limited in supply.
The problem with money is that you cannot have too much of it since this would devalue its worth. This is a common problem experienced by countries with economies in financial difficulties and which seek to print more money without ensuring that it retains its worth. What happens is that more money enters circulation meaning that more ‘cash’ chases the same volume of goods. In a supply and demand economy (which most in the world are) prices increase leading to inflation. Inflation devalues the worth of savings . . . → Read More: What Changes How Much Money Is In The World?

Question by Belichick: What is the best paper money investment site?
I’m 16 and I want to start a few paper money (IE play money) which means a make believe account in which I can set the amount of money I have, and buy securities. Can anyone tell me which website you would recommend for doing this?
Separate question: I need a website or program that has a complete list of stocks available and provides statistics, news, and reports on companies. It would be very helpful if it allowed me to filter listings of stocks by certain statistics for instance I would be able to filter out stocks from a list that didnt have X price to earnings ratio.
Lastly if you are a professional/experienced investor please view my other question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AixZFJFf48V6nA9dq0oVGO_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090326122917AAeFFwN

Question by Mallory A: Did Colonial farmers liked paper money because it lost value, making loans easier to repay?
it is a true or false question, the original question is:
Colonial farmers liked paper money because it lost value, making loans easier to repay, (T or F)
Best answer:
Answer by starwars811I think it it false.
Paper money is worthless unless you have something (i.e. gold/silver) to back it up. Printing more money without having the necessary backings to make it have value leads to inflation, which drives down the value of the money. That means that you have to have more of the money to pay something off, which many of the farmers did not have. So, it actually made it harder to pay

Question by Sound_of_the_silenced: Is there no limit to the amount of money the government can tax?
You are being taxed and you don’t even know it.
Lets say Congress needs a billion dollars for today’s expenditures. So they go down to the Treasury and ask for the money and the Treasury officials says, “you guys gotta be kidding, we don’t have any money here, you spent it all back in February or March. Everything we took in with taxes is gone.” Not to worry says the government together they walk down the street to the Federal Reserve Building. The Fed has been waiting for them…because that’s one of the reasons it was created. They walk in and the officer at the Federal Reserve opens up his desk and pulls out a big check book and writes a check to the treasury for 1 Billion dollars. Now we need to ask a question at this point. WHO PUT THAT BILLION DOLLARS IN THEIR CHECKING ACCOUNT so they could lend it to the government? Where did that money come from? The amazing answer is that . . . → Read More: Is there no limit to the amount of money the government can tax?
