Answer by I. B. ZoxxAccording to the catalog I am using, there were no Series 1928 $ 5 Silver Certificates. There were Series 1928 Federal Reserve Notes (green seals and serial numbers) and United States Notes (red seals and serial numbers), but no Series 1928 Silver Certificates (Blue seals and serial numbers).
Same with Series 1963. You either have Federal Reserve Notes or United States Notes. Let us know which. Also, if there is a letter with the date (for example, Series 1928 B).

The United States did not issue any $ 1 Silver Certificates with a 1953 date. If you have 1963 Federal Reserve Notes they are generally worth less than the 1957 Silver Certificates, but to get a more accurate estimate you would need to specify
-the series (1963, 1963 A or 1963 B)
-an estimate of the grade
-if the serial number contains a star and
-the Federal Reserve Bank that issued it.
If, instead, you have 1935 Silver Certificates you need to specify more information to get a reasonable estimate of the value. You need to specify
-the series (1935, 1935 A … 1935 H)
-the color of the seal
-an estimate of the grade
-if the serial number contains a star and
-if there is a red “S” or “R” printed on the face

Question by CJlove: Does anyone know what a german Zwei Rentenmark is worth, all the sights I’ve found are in german.?
I can only read dates and days of week in german and this bill has two dates on it and they are October1923, which is the only year these bills were supposed to have been used and the other date appears to be January 30, 1937. It has Berlin on it and it is stamped twice, one large imprint and another smaller one. My Great Uncle sent it to my Grandfather, after WWI as a souvineer, he said it was worth about 80 cents American money then. I’d never heard of a Rentenmark til we found it in Pappy’s papers, recently.
oops It was WWII, not WWI that Uncle Edsel brought back the Rentenmark.

I’m German and I remmember that the Rentenmark was launched as a reaction to the great inflation where a simple bread costed more than 1 billion Reichsmark.
I searched (a bit desultorily) and found on the German site

okay so i have this mexican paper bill from 1965. Its worth 5000 pesos. how much is it worth now? its from the banco de mexico. please help. like maybe now that its older it may be worth more money or i could i sell it somewhere for more money? thanks

Answer by ChedvahO.k. here’s how you can figure out how much Pesos are to American dollar bills. Here’s the run down:
10 peso bill is 1.00 U.S. dollar
100 peso bill is 10 U.S. dollars
200 peso bill equals 20 U.S. dollars
50 peso bill equals 5.00 U.S. dollars
500 peso bill is 50 dollars
5000 peso bill is 500 dollars (I’ve never come across a 5000 peso bill)—-although I’m not 100 percent sure on this one.
(You basically move the decimal over one when calculating.)

A circulated note would sell for $ 80 – $ 100.
What you have is probably a Federal Reserve Note with green seal and serial numbers, and the “PAYABLE IN GOLD” clause at upper left. They look like this:
